Howdy y'all! Eryka here, founder and creative mind at CrazyBeautiful<3
We are SOOOO flippin' excited to get the images back from our recent collaboration with fashion photographer Kathleen Starita of KStar Photography. Starita came to me a while back with a concept she wanted to shoot for a photography competition for Vogue Magazine. I am always blown away by this woman's unique eye behind the camera! It's so inspiring to imagine the gears move and shift in her brain as she's analyzing a set and trying to find the exact spot to shoot. I just want to jump in her head and watch the fireworks going off, as that's how I like to imagine it happening anyways. Heehee! I was so excited to work with her again and I knew something fabulous would evolve from it! She wanted to fuse vintage elements with modern style, and I immediately knew the purrrrrfect location to do the shoot!
The American Dream look book was inspired by, and shot inside of, the totally rad indoor trailer park home of fellow Memphian and founder of The American Dream Safari, Tad Pierson. It provided the retro, quirky backdrop that helped bring to life our vision of American redneck glam meets psycho-billy babe. Along with driving tourists through the back-roads of the Dirty South, Pierson also creates unique art and furniture made from recycled tires: the man's a GENIUS! You can see several pieces used in our look book below OR check out some of his super cool stuff by clicking HERE
Welcome to our American Dream!
We hope you enjoy this glimpse into our CrazyBeautiful world<3
OMG! I am seriously in LOVE with Too Fast brand's newest collection RAT BABY!!! Expressing an unruly passion for dirty, grungy, street fashion, Rat Baby is new, aggressive, and more than anything: rock n’ freakin' roll. From the moment I first laid eyes on these fun prints my mind went wild with ideas on how to style them. With their nostalgic graphics and edgy vibe, I knew they were the perfect pieces to incorporate into Starita's shoot. Along with myself and KStar, we worked with a small team of talented like-minded peeps which included stylist Kim Thomas of KP Fusion, model and MUA Ava Martin, videographer Justin Edmon, and professional PBR slammer Chad West (Hey! Somebody's got to keep the host company! ha!) I am so appreciative of each and every one of these amazing people for dedicating their time and talent to help make this shoot a success! Much love to you all<3
